5 Things You Should Know About the Eyebrow Embroidery Process

You may have recently seen hot social media posts with hashtags like #eyebrowsonfleek and #iwokeuplikethis. These folks who engage with them will likely have attempted eyebrow embroidery to acquire the beautiful brows they’ve always desired.

In recent years, we’ve noticed an increase in the number of celebrities and influencers opting for brow embroidery to attain the “no makeup” appearance. While the results of flawlessly arched and defined brows are often discussed, information/advice on the healing process is scarce on the internet. This may be because the aftercare necessary is generally regarded as a bother.

So, let us take the lead and share 5 things you wish someone had informed you before getting your brows embroidered!

1. Eyebrow Embroidery is not the same as Eyebrow Tattoo.

Although both processes function to infuse colour into the skin, they are not the same. Tattoos are considered permanent colouring techniques. On the other hand, embroidery is called semi-permanent cosmetics since the pigments dissolve over time. In addition, traditional brow tattoos are thinner and less natural-looking than brow embroidery since embroidery uses hand-drawn techniques to approximate the look of natural brow hairs.

Furthermore, several types of ink are used in Eyebrow Embroidery and Eyebrow Tattoo. While typical eyebrow tattoos may fade to blue or green over time, eyebrow embroidery remains true to the original colour.

2. It is usual to see swelling and darker brows at first.

There may be some redness and swelling after the treatment, but it should go away by the next day. Your newly embroidered brows will seem darker and bolder on the second and third day, but this is natural and part of the healing process.

Your brows will begin to scab on Day 3 and should completely heal by Day 10. Depending on the individual’s skin type, the colour will fade by 40-60%. A touch-up session with your brow artist may be scheduled to fill in any gaps in your brows.

3. Keep your brows dry and avoid direct sunlight exposure.

It is critical not to get the brow region moist. For the first 5 days, you can clean your face using facial wipes to avoid touching the brow regions. Keep your face away from the shower head, or take a bath while showering.

Furthermore, you should avoid the sun for the first two weeks to safeguard your newly embroidered brows. This is because sun exposure can impact the retention of microblading since the pigment might fade due to UV exposure and sweat.

4. Do not use any ointment, skin care products, or makeup after the procedure.

To avoid infection:

  • Avoid using ointments, skin care products, or cosmetics around the brow region.
  • Remember to use the healing lotion recommended by your brow artist twice daily for at least one week.
  • When applying, make sure your hands are absolutely clean.

5. Eyebrow embroidery is a delicate and risk-free procedure.

The entire procedure will take about 2 hours to complete. To begin, your brow artist will trim and shape your brows to the ideal form.

Then, for 15-20 minutes, a numbing lotion will be given to guarantee comfort throughout the procedure. After that, the pigments will be injected into your skin using disposable needles.

You might request extra numbing gel between procedures to make the experience more enjoyable.
